Will You Be at the NEXT Innovation Summit this March in Anaheim?

Join me at my session on “Innovation Without a Home”

The natural products industry is bursting with creativity. It’s an exciting time, with companies eager to bring the next generation of preventive health products to consumers. The reality is that existing regulatory frameworks don’t always allow them to fully develop a product’s potential.

Learn about how companies have been moving forward, and participate in a discussion about what the future may look like. Join me on Thursday, March 6, for “Innovation Without a Home: Pharma-grade Science in a Restrictive Regulatory Landscape” at the NEXT Innovation Summit in Anaheim. I’ll explore the beginnings of a sea change in product introductions and the implications for development, funding, and progress, both now and in the future.

Add Regulatory & Scientific Expertise to Your Creative Team

I’ve seen the crestfallen faces of designers and copywriters when I’ve had to tell them their beautiful package design and persuasive words won’t make it past the FDA. That’s why I encourage design firms and other creative agencies to engage me early in the process. I can help you develop messages that are both compelling and regulatory-compliant, right from the start. I can also bring a scientific voice to the marketing and communications materials, such as package inserts, news releases, and blog posts.

Here’s what Bill Hogan, a copywriter at global design agency Pearlfisher had to say about our collaboration: I worked with Risa to revise and fine tune benefit-driven package copy for a mutual client. She was extremely helpful from a regulatory/scientific perspective but also from a creative standpoint, where her input really helped me tie the brand’s tone of voice into the brand benefit. We’ve worked with regulatory experts in the past, but Risa just really got it.

Recent Raves for Tap~Root

I’m pleased to share this recent feedback from a client:

Risa has a firm grasp of the food and dietary supplement industries. She is very knowledgeable in areas of regulatory compliance, claim substantiation, and evidence-based marketing. Her professionalism is evident in her work, including timely, informative, and detailed reports, excellent communication skills, and constructive discussions. She is a pleasure to work with and I would recommend her services without hesitation.

Beating the Winter Blues

When winter’s cold weather and dark days become too much to bear, I often recharge with a mini-vacation to a botanical garden. Where I live, I’m lucky to have two wonderful such gardens nearby: the New York Botanical Garden and the Brooklyn Botanical Garden. Their warm, fragrant greenhouses are a heavenly pick-me-up for the winter blues!! As I walk through them, I think about all the treasures that come from these plants. Since time immemorial, plants have been known and prized for their healthy properties and they remain the star ingredients in many new products today. If you need a break from winter, as well as some plant-based inspiration, the American Horticultural Society has a searchable directory where you can find a botanical garden near you. Many also offer adult education classes to help you learn more about these magnificent plants and their healthful properties.
